SCALA  continuing to grow in 2018

Keep an eye on the new look SCALA Website and/or FB Page for details of the coming events.

FOOM (Festival Of Original Music) wound up August 23 on Grand Final night. It was a Sold Out event!! Happily it has been videoed and will be available for viewing on our You Tube Channel in the not too distant future.
SCALA Live resumes September 13 fortnightly until December before we take another break.
I am leading a Songwriter Workshop for SCALA at The Box Factory September 20 7-9:30pm. Titled ‘Get Your Message Across’ I am looking at some do’s and don’t’s for songwriting and inviting songwriters to bring any lyrics they are having trouble with to be workshopped. Gold Coin Donation Only.
The AGM held on April 5  saw a new, enlarged SCALA Board elected, increasing from 8 to 12 members. We are hoping to spread the load and accomplish big things over the next 18 months.

You can still get involved by being part of one of the sub-committees. Contact SCALA through the website and let us know what you would like to be part of: Staging; Door person; MC; Newsletter; Grant applications; Website management; Talent scout; FOOM and many more

SCALA  are wanting to introduce more opportunities for members to perform. Regrettably our recent effort to host Music Mondays at The Ed Castle in Currie St has fallen through.  The Ed have been facing trading difficulties with the building site behind taking all the parking space and the council closing the balcony. The hotel will continue to trade on weekends only, closing Monday – Thursdays while it is on the market. We wish Tony Bond all the best.

Watch this space or subscribe to SCALA newsletter to see further developments on this subject.

You can see how the final 30 year celebrations unfolded through the wonderful photos of Emma Woolcock on the FB page.

SCALA Festival Of Original Music has concluded for another year

Get the lowdown on the winners through the SCALA website  announced to a sell out audience at The Grand final in September. Huge thanks to The Wheaty for their ongoing support.
