After The Fringe

Hard on the heels of the Tamworth Country Music Festival, I joined the January 31 line up which included The Good Questions and Jessica Rae.  A romantic night for February 14 saw Bryn Soden release his new single with his full band following Jessica Wishart and Tara Carragher.

We will take a break over the Fringe, returning March 21

Keep an eye on the new look SCALA Website and/or FB Page for details of the coming events.

Our first Popular Song Competition was held December 20, 2018 as our end of year Christmas and break up celebrations.
A wonderful success planned for a repeat in 2019!

SCALA Opportunities outside of The Wheaty

After the demise of The Ed Castle, SCALA  have sourced other venue opportunities for budding songwriters and original artists.

SCALA now run an Open Mic at Boomers Cafe fortnightly on Fridays returning in 2019,  January 11. Just turn up and introduce yourself to Geoff and Lucas.

There are further performing opportunities at the Prince Albert Hotel in Gawler,  final show for 2018 ran on December 14. More to come in 2019.

FOOM (Festival Of Original Music) wound up August 23 on Grand Final night. It was a Sold Out event!! Happily it was  videoed and is available for viewing on the SCALA You Tube Channel

The AGM held on April 5  saw a new, enlarged SCALA Board elected, increasing from 8 to 12 members. We are hoping to spread the load and accomplish big things over the next 18 months.

You can still get involved by being part of one of the sub-committees. Contact SCALA through the website and let us know what you would like to be part of: Staging; Door person; MC; Newsletter; Grant applications; Website management; Talent scout; FOOM and many more

You can see how the final 30 year celebrations unfolded through the wonderful photos of Emma Woolcock on the FB page.

SCALA Festival Of Original Music has concluded for another year

Get the lowdown on the winners through the SCALA website  announced to a sell out audience at The Grand final in September. Huge thanks to The Wheaty for their ongoing support.
