I was invited back to perform at Club Acoustica, for their final show for the year
The last Club Acoustica night of 2019 – our big end-of-year revels to round off the year in fine style!
At the Olive Branch Café in Balhannah on Sunday 1st December we were entertained by:
- Lance Duncan, the man with the fine, dark baritone voice and the great guitar technique, playing a broad cross-section of music from Dylan and his contemporaries to traditional Scottish, Irish, Canadian and American folk songs.
- Jackie Sprott, Joost, and special guest Steven Stone, for a selection of heartfelt Americana songs and a few for the audience to sing along with as well. (We were treated to Steven playing us something on his Greek bouzouki, too – what a treat!)
- Paula Standing, whose songs come from the wellspring of old, dark country and folk traditions, bringing you stories of the ordinary and everyday viewed from a new angle that can surprise. Paula’s songs have performed strongly on community radio across Australia, and she has a new Americana-flavoured album under development.
- Our old friends Stretch and Fella, with a selection of up-tempo blues, early rock and country, and a touch of folk. As always these guys got our feet tapping!
In addition, we heard our sound engineer Kyffin Williams step out from behind the mixing desk to perform, and there was plenty of locally grown poetry shared as well.
Lastly, I will be on the SCALA Stage at The Wheaty for the final Showcase of the year.
Emma Jayne is headlining with her band, plus there will be a couple of Spotlights.
