Huge thanks to all the people who tuned into either my FB Page or the whole Make Music Day ADL online concert on Sunday the 21st of June to celebrate International Make Music Day 🎶 Congratulations to the Make Music Day Adl team and everyone who participated to make it a successful afternoon / evening of great local music.
A note below from the team explains what it is all about if you missed out. This is an annual event, so make sure you keep you ears and eyes peeled for 2021.
What is it all about?
Every year around the world musicians gather in different ways to offer free concerts, flash mobs and workshops on June 21st as part of “Make Music Day” This all began in France with “Fête de la Musique” a free celebration of music that is open to anyone and everyone.
“We’re so excited to share the full lineup with you for our inaugural #MakeMusicADL Livestream Online Music Festival!
We are incredibly grateful to the 20 diverse musical acts who have registered to be part of this event with either a performance or workshop. Over the next week we’ll be helping you get to know them a little better.
Next Sunday you can tune into any of these artists sets via their nominated social media channel or via our special simulcast in our Facebook Event here!
All our artists and event team are volunteering their time to spread a little joy & community connection with you, we hope you enjoy! If you are in a position to make a financial contribution, some artists will be accepting tips (PayPal), or promoting their own merch, or a charity of their choice.
Make Music Day is a global event where artists self-organise free concerts in more than 800 cities in 120 countries. As such, this event is not about the money, it’s about finding new ways to stay connected during these times of uncertainty. Opportunities to learn from each other through stories and song and contribute to the butterfly effect of spreading just a little more joy and hope.”
